My name is Damon Ashley. I am 47 years old and live with my husband, Matthew, and my mother, Lorraine Gaffey. Matthew and I have been together since 2014 and are a close, committed and supportive couple who place great importance on family, stability and creating a comfortable home. Matthew is 52 years old, employed full-time and works within the motor vehicle industry. He is hardworking, dependable and practical, with a quiet and easy-going nature. He takes pride in his work and is respectful of others, considerate of neighbours and always willing to lend a hand when needed. My mum, Lorraine, is 72 years young and also lives with us due to her complex medical needs and a recent diagnosis of vascular dementia. I am her full-time carer and hold both Power of Attorney and Enduring Power of Attorney for her. Lorraine is a warm, caring and gentle person who values her family enormously. She enjoys a peaceful home environment, friendly conversation and spending quality time with Matthew and me. I have been self-employed for many years and previously owned and operated a successful, award-winning and well-known hair and beauty company. Through this experience, I developed extensive skills in business management, leadership, customer service, property presentation and maintaining exceptionally high professional standards. I now work as a business consultant and coach, supporting small to medium-sized businesses, with a particular focus on retail, the hair and beauty industry and newly established businesses. I also work with Airbnb hosts and holiday rental owners, assisting them with guest experience, property presentation, cleaning standards, operational improvements and the overall management of their properties. As a person, I am responsible, organised, compassionate and extremely house-proud. I have very high standards when it comes to cleanliness, presentation and looking after a home. My professional experience working with accommodation owners means I fully understand the importance of protecting a property, promptly reporting maintenance concerns and treating a home with the same care and respect as if it were my own. Together, we are a quiet, mature and family-oriented household. We are not party people and enjoy a calm home life, spending time together, cooking, watching television and relaxing. We are considerate of our neighbours, respectful of community rules and understand the importance of open, courteous communication with property managers and owners. We would be excellent long-term tenants because we are reliable, respectful and genuinely invested in maintaining a secure and stable home. We take pride in keeping both the inside and outside of a property clean, tidy and well presented. We understand that renting someone else’s property comes with a responsibility to care for it properly, and we would always communicate promptly regarding maintenance or anything requiring attention.
